Dr. Ghasem Barati Darband was born in July 1991 in Kalat, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with a specialization in Corrosion, Coatings, and Surface Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University in 2019. Since 2020, he has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. His main research interests include electrochemical engineering, corrosion science and engineering, and surface engineering. Dr. Barati has received several prestigious awards and honors, including the Shahid Shahriari Award and the Kazemi Ashtiani Award from the National Elites Foundation. He was also listed among the top 2% most-cited scientists worldwide during 2020–2023. In addition, he was recognized as one of the Leading Scientists of Iran in 2023 and 2024 by the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Iran National Science Foundation
