The goal of this course is to acquaintance students with the concepts of network management and technologies and standards available for this purpose. In this course at the first, the basic concepts of network management are described. then, the architecture of the network management system and its components are explained. Then, the protocols used in network management systems are dealt with. Subsequently, network management is discussed in five areas: Fault Management, Configuration Management, Accounting Management, Performance Management and Security Management. The SNMP protocol is described as the most common network management protocol in three versions. The last section focuses on new network generation management and examines the eToM model. |
