I received my bachelor's degree in statistics and computer science from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Since I was first ranked, I received a full scholarship to continue my study abroad. I completed my MSc in Computer Science at University of Southern California. Since I did very well in the comprehensive examination, Professor K.H.Kim from the Department of Electrical Engineering (Computer Engineering branch) who was the professor responsible for that year's comprehensive examination, offered me a significant research scholarship to work under his supervision during my PhD. Although my MSc was in Computer Science and I had to take extra courses in Computer Engineering, I gladly accepted . After receiving my PhD in 1980, Professor Jerry M. Mendel suggested that I do my postdoctoral course with him, which I accepted. His research projects were related to oil exploration, and I became responsible for extending and maintaining related software systems. I also had to teach one undergraduate course each semester. In 1981 I returned home and started working at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. I have supervised numerous PhD and MSc students and have published many journal papers and many Persian and English books. My latest English books are Contemporary Operating Systems, New Generation Computer Algorithms, and the last one, i.e., From City of Purple Flowers to City of Angels, is different.
