9th Iranian Joint Congress on Fuzzy and Intelligent Systems (CFIS2022) March 2-4, 2022, Higher Education Complex of Bam

Special Session for CFIS2022 on:

AI for Good

AIM: It is increasingly clear that artificial intelligence (AI) will be making a profound contribution to the future of humanity, the planet, and the world.  AI has already offered cost-effective solutions in several critical fields and has led to a large and profitable private industry. The remaining question is whether AI could also provide cost-effective solutions to traditionally unprofitable problems that are generally neglected by the private sector. Yet solving them is critical to the future of humankind and its ‘public good,’ such as famine, drought, pollution, and even pandemics. These problems potentially constitute major humanitarian crises that are traditionally supported only by governments or non-profit foundations. Still, as such, their funding is always scarce and inadequate, considering the scale of the problems they address. In this special session, we hope to include AI applications that are traditionally ‘for Good,’ such as in medicine, health, agriculture, and the environment. But we also hope to identify applications among them that could be game-changers, transforming traditionally costly problems to profitable and self-sustaining enterprise.

SCOPE: This special session will highlight the latest development in this rapidly growing research area of AI for Good. Authors are invited to submit their original and unpublished work in the areas including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Food supply
  • Medicine and health sciences
  • Poverty
  • Drought
  • The environment
  • Environmental pollution Greenhouse Gases
  • Transportation
  • Machine-human interaction
  • Social Sciences
  • Agriculture

You should follow the instructions of the CFIS2022 paper submission guidelines, and submit your paper via  https://cfis2022.bam.ac.ir. Make sure to select “AI for Good” as your preferred track during submission. Special session papers are treated the same as regular conference papers, and will be included in the conference proceedings. All accepted and registered English papers of CFIS2022 will be index by IEEE Xplore. The extended deadline for paper submission is 21 November 2022.
