Dr. Seyed Yaser Banihashemi is an Assistant Professor at Civil Engineering Department in the field of Construction Engineering & Management. He received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2002 and continued his graduate studies in the field of Project and Construction Management at Tarbiat Modares University. Meanwhile, he was working in the construction industry and gained invaluable experience in the field. After completing his MSc in 2010, he moved to Australia in 2011 to get his PhD in the field of Construction Management at The University of Sydney. Receiving his PhD degree at 2014, he came back to his home country, Iran, and started his career as a faculty member at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2015. He lectures graduate and undergraduate courses in civil engineering and industrial engineering departments. Dr. Banihashemi has more than 18 years of professional experience as project manager, PMO manager, and consultant in large construction companies and has been engaged with different types of projects in diverse fields such as building, sewage, and oil & gas, from feasibility study to operation phase. In recent years, he succeeded in establishing an EPMO and designing an Enterprise Project Management System for one of the largest national construction companies as well as revising the organizational project management system of Mashhad Municipality. Further, he successfully developed strategic plans for Ferdowsi University College and several companies. He has always been seeking ways to link between his educational and professional experience and share his findings with other researchers and professional experts by conducting seminars and workshops in scientific and professional occasions. He is now the secretary of the Green Office at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad which leads and organizes all the green activities at the university. Dr. Banihashemi obtained several achievements during his educational life. He was recognized as honors at MSc level and won the 1st prize in “Research Conversazione 2012” at the School of Civil Engineering, during his PhD study at Sydney University. Further, he won the Brad Hosler Outstanding Student Paper Award at PICMET Conference held in Kanazawa-Japan, in 2014. |
